Font - Durwyn9 OP +48 days ago edited 8 days ago I just got out of a long term relationship and started dating again. I've been on a handful of dates in the past month, and they've all been either allergic, highly indifferent to my cats, or sarcastic about me being a cat mom. What gives? Cats are the best, so I'm confused. Edit: I'm not judging the allergic people, it's just a mutual bummer and a "welp, I guess this is it" (and there are SO many of them!) Indifference is a yellow flag (I prefer

Font - coffcat +2.8 days ago 23 years ago I had to go on a week long trip. I asked my boyfriend if he could stop by to check on my two cats during that time. At very least I was hoping he could replenish food/water and scoop the litter boxes a couple times. I found out later that he was going there every night after work and hanging out with them. We eventually got married, I knew I'd found a keeper. 1.9k Reply Give Award Share Report Save Follow

Font - ProfPotatoPickyPants +1.7 days ago My mom asked her boyfriend to stay at her house for a week to watch her two cats and dog. When she came back one of the cat liked him better than her. So he stuck around. They got married a few years later and had me and my brother. 40 years later they are still happily married and enjoying their grand cats

Font - secondtaunting +3.7 days ago My daughters best guy friend watched our cat while we were on vacation a couple of weeks ago. That cat doesn't sit on anyone but me, and he sent so many photos of the cat lounging on him, making biscuits in him, just chill axing. He said he'll cat sit anytime.

Font - Weekly_Bug_4847 +18 days ago We're out there. I was allergic to my GF's (now wife) dog AND cat. I was also not much of a cat person to begin with because of a previous bad experience. But that darn cat and dog sure did win me over, and the love for my wife endured. It took me awhile and a bit of routine, but my allergies did subside after basically immersion therapy. Cat has, unfortunately, passed (he was the best of boys), but the dog remains. He's sitting here next to me, being adorable

Font - Lopsided Hovercraft9 +28 days ago It seems like a lot of people that haven't had any experience with cats default to not liking them for no reason. I'm not sure why that is. I'm thankful that that last few guys I've dated have loved cats...so they do exist! My current boyfriend of 5 ish years is a proud cat dad lol

Font - LittleKitty235 +2.8 days ago American Shorthair We exist! You'd be surprised how many women don't like cats or think it is weird for a guy to like cats. It is brutal out there (which is why I stay in with my cats)

Facial expression - bonelessbbqbutthole +2.8 days ago I didn't think my husband was a cat person at first but he definitely likes them. We've adopted 2 since we started dating and my other cat warmed up to him quickly

Font - gregyr1 8 days ago edited 8 days ago Before we were married, my wife and I had lived together after buying our first new home. I remember clearly saying that I had no desire to own any pets as I didn't think we should be tied down with obligations while we were younger. She ignored me and a short time later I was a cat dad. Now many years later I'm known by my wife and two boys as the cat whisperer. We have a Bengal and a Siamese which both follow me from room to room around the house, sl

Font - pricklyPear6382 +3.8 days ago My old roommate was the same, she said she didn't like cats because of whatever reasons ("they're only nice when they want food" or "they're not as cuddly and loving as dogs are") and then she met her current boyfriend, who loves cats and now they're living together and have their own sweet little kitty.

Font - +1.8 days ago My boyfriend never had much experience with cats until we moved in together. I have two very difficult cats. It's been a slow process, but he's starting to learn their body language. Learning that when a cat is being cute and acting like they want belly scratches is a trap was a fun one. He loves them, even though they can be a lot. WitchQween

Organism - schrodingers-tiger +1 8 days ago My husband grew up with no pets so when we first started dating he was very indifferent to the cats, and actually didn't really like them all that much. It was a transition to a different lifestyle for him. But now I hear him talking to the cats all the time and giving them kisses, and gets upset when either of the cats jumps off his lap haha, he's a real cat dad now.
